We praise You, Jesus Christ, for the simple things of life which give us joy; for the gifts of song and music, for the pleasure of spending time with those we love, for the delights of offering worship to You, and for the happiness that comes to us when we are doing Your will.  Then, in the midst of our trials, remind us of these joys, so that the memory of them might give us sustenance.  Thank You, dear Jesus:

AMEN

Consider praying under these four headings, and pray as you feel led.  The ideas below may help.

General theme for the week: WATER

1. For self

Pray and give thanks for the rain, and ask the Lord to bless the land and the water systems of your country that supply you with water

2. For friends and family

Pray for the houses and homes of those you love.  Pray that they will provide the comforts and succour needed so that your family can live securely

3. For the church and its work

Pray for the work of your church and the wider church; pray for those who give themselves for the life of the church and whose work keeps it going practically and spiritually

4. For neighbourhood, country and world (the ‘news’)

Your country undoubtedly has waterways, that is, rivers and canals, etc. Some of these are used commercially and others that are not, but pray that they will be kept clean and respected, for water is not a dead commercial object, it is the bearer of much life in this world
