We use cameras to take pictures or clips,
We do it whenever we can;
We may have hundreds of photographs
Stored on film or computer.
Each moment is captured for posterity,
Reminding us of something;
A beautiful scene, a special family event,
A flower, a precious moment.
Lord, forgive us if our faith is just memories
Gathered from long ago;
A collection of religious memorabilia;
A sermon, your healing, a baptism;
Change us, Lord, from being just gatherers
To loves of your graciousness;
Those who need no reminding of Your presence,
For You are with us, all the time.

Devotions - Friday 30th of December

Great and glorious Lord, Creator of all and Master of the Universe, help each of us who honour You as Lord and God turn to You each day to forgive our sins. We are people who are committed, and yet know that our nature is sinful, and we want to be rid of this sin and serve You as people who are forgiven and free. Draw us daily to Your saving, healing and redeeming grace, we pray.
AMEN

Consider praying under these four headings, and pray as you feel led. The ideas below may help.
General theme for the week: CHRISTMAS
1. For self
Make time to pray for yourself and for your own needs. Remember that God loves you personally and His desire is to see you content and happy in your life; He truly wants what is best for us
2. For friends and family
Pray and ask the Lord to be close to those you love, in whatever way is right for each individual. Everyone is different and has different needs, so pray for each according to who they are
3. For the church and its work
Pray for the people who are at the centre of the life of the church, as you perceive it. Pray that they will have the courage to do new things for God , as He leads.
4. For community, country and world (the ‘news’)
Pray against the evils in the world that make people corrupt and dangerous. Pray against evil dictators and regimes that kill people systematically. Pray that God’s voice will be heard that injustice is not right.
